Job Summary
Perform light and heavy cleaning duties in a healthcare setting using a variety of equipment (dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, washing, mopping, stripping, polishing, wiping). Make beds and dispose of garbage in accordance with established policies. Requires Grade 10 or equivalent; strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to interact with others; physical ability to perform duties; and ability to organize work and operate related cleaning equipment. Based at Chemainus Health Care Centre, Chemainus, BC. Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) obligations to safety and quality are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
