Job Summary
Support clients with mental health, addiction, behavioral and developmental challenges in community settings. Provide life skills coaching, advice, and day-to-day care planning within an established treatment plan; facilitate employment opportunities and vocational skills training; collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team; and promote independence. Requires a diploma in a related field, two years of relevant experience, First Aid/CPR Level C, Food Safe, and a valid BC driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Community Social Services or health related program (e.g., Human Services, Mental Health, Life Skills & Career Development, or Practical Nursing)
- Two (2) years recent, related experience
- Recognized post basic education related to mental illness and addiction (e.g., Counseling Skills training)
- Knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, Guardianship Act) and available programs
- Knowledge of the local labour market; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
- Food Safe certificate
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
