Job Summary
Teach high school mathematics in Somerset County Public Schools for the 2026–2027 school year at Crisfield and Washington Academy & High School. Deliver instruction aligned with MCCRS and MTSS, fostering numerical reasoning and algebraic thinking, and preparing students for Integrated Algebra sequences and secondary pathways. Utilize technology (Desmos, GeoGebra, LMS like Canvas/Schoology) to personalize learning, integrate data-driven planning with MCAP results, and maintain equity by providing access to rigorous content. Engage families with progress updates, participate in professional growth through state-mandated courses, and support Numeracy Development per MSDE frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education
- Maryland Initial Professional License (IPL) or Professional License (PL) with endorsement in Secondary Mathematics (7-12)
- Completion of Maryland Effective Mathematics Educator course (required for license renewal and alignment with 2025 Revised Standards)
- Evidence of passing edTPA or state-approved performance-based assessment for initial licensure if seeking licensure after September 1, 2026
- Ability to teach Mathematics across pathways (Quantitative Reasoning, Data/Statistical Reasoning, Algebraic Foundations of Calculus) and implement MCCRS
- Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Schoology) and math tools (Desmos, GeoGebra) and data visualization for MTSS progress
