Job Summary
Secondary History Teachers at The SEED School are responsible for providing engaging and effective history instruction while fostering an atmosphere of active student participation. Teachers will implement curricula that meets academic standards, drive student outcomes through data analysis, develop strong relationships with parents and scholars, and differentiate instruction to suit all learners. The role includes collaborating with grade-level teachers, serving as advisors, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development activities. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree related to the field, a valid teaching credential, and experience in Urban Education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Political Science, Economics, Social Studies Education, or a related field.
- Valid Washington D.C. teaching credential or ability to attain credential.
- Experience working in Urban Education.
- Praxis II passing score required in the content area.
- A love for working with young people.
- A commitment to a diverse and inclusive community.
- A passion for teaching in an innovative, experiential, and student-centered environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s in related field and/or prior teaching experience highly desired
- Knowledge of K-12 teaching standards and frameworks
- Excellent technology skills and experience integrating technology into the curriculum
