Secondary English Teacher

Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs using local and state curriculum guides. Create a conductive classroom environment and guide learning processes toward curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Employ appropriate instructional methods and materials, then assess student accomplishments regularly to provide progress reports. Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents; refer suspected learning disabilities to district personnel. Assist administration in implementing policies, maintain order, and supervise teacher assistants and volunteers. Attend staff meetings, enforce conduct rules, and maintain hygienic classroom conditions. Report serious accidents or illnesses to the principal and maintain accurate records as required by law. Make provisions for availability to students and parents outside the academic day when requested. Assist the district in complying with HR1 (NCLB) requirements and provide a safe, nurturing environment.
