Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, incorporating accommodations for diverse learning styles and special education needs. Conduct assessments of student learning preferences and achievement to inform instructional strategies, while collaborating with special education staff to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior, supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and utilize technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Establish open communication with parents, students, and colleagues, and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities and staff development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to deliver instruction and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Ability to lift 25 pounds to waist high
- Ability to move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
