Job Summary
Secondary Design Engineer to join the GIS engineering team in Zurich. Responsibilities include preparing schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including Local Control Cabinet (LCC) and digital substation applications; supporting engineering execution across project phases from base design to manufacturing documentation and as-built updates; creating preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents; performing structured self-checks to ensure technically correct, high-quality, standard-compliant deliverables; supporting technical clarifications with internal stakeholders, project teams, and factories; contributing to continuous improvement, standardization and best practices; applying internal guidelines and quality requirements while supporting safe, efficient project execution. Requirements: degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, 2–3 years of relevant experience, practical experience with Zuken E3 or similar tools, basic GIS and secondary engineering knowledge, familiarity with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards; English fluency required, German a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2–3 years of professional experience in secondary engineering, design engineering, or project engineering
- Practical experience with engineering tools such as Zuken E3 or comparable ECAD / engineering tools
- Basic knowledge of GIS, secondary engineering principles, and applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE, or ANSI
- Fluency in English is required; German and other languages are an advantage
