Job Summary
Develop and deliver Biology and Chemistry lesson plans aligned with state and district standards, utilizing diverse teaching strategies and technology tools to accommodate varied learning styles. Continuously assess student understanding through formative and summative evaluations, analyzing performance data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions. Manage classroom culture and student safety while implementing trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches to support social-emotional development. Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and parents to enhance curriculum alignment, address behavior concerns, and ensure comprehensive student progress monitoring. Maintain accurate student records and participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and school committees to foster a positive school climate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
- Hold Missouri State Certification in Biology (9-12)
- Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management
- Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments
