Job Summary
Pool to identify and develop a strong pipeline of highly effective secondary school leaders. Secondary Assistant Principals serve as instructional leaders who support student achievement, school culture, teacher development, operational excellence, and community engagement. Responsibilities include defining and communicating the school's mission, supporting district curriculum and instructional initiatives, monitoring student achievement data, promoting high-quality instructional practices, coaching and evaluating staff, implementing interventions to address achievement gaps, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting restorative practices, attendance and graduation readiness efforts, and advancing equity-focused leadership and engagement with families and the community. Qualifications emphasize a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field, valid Ohio Principal License or eligibility, and a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience, with leadership and experience in diverse or secondary school settings preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field from an accredited institution
- Valid Ohio Principal License required or evidence of eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience required
- Previous leadership experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience working in diverse educational environments preferred
- Experience supporting secondary students and programs preferred
