Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Conduct assessments of student learning preferences to inform instructional activities and evaluate achievement through formal and informal methods. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and supervise teacher aides and volunteers. Manage student behavior according to board policies, maintain open communication with parents and staff, and participate in Professional Learning Communities. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process and assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification required for all ELA teachers
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to deliver instruction and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Ability to lift 25 pounds to waist high
- Ability to move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
