Job Summary
Secondary Area I _ Teacher, Interrelated at Sequoyah Middle School. Plan and deliver instructional content to diverse learners, including those with special needs, in-person and via virtual learning, to meet district standards and promote academic success. Collaborate with teams, manage classroom environments, assess and document progress, communicate with families, and supervise paraprofessional staff as needed. Responsible for IEP adherence and serving as case manager for students with disabilities, following state and federal guidance and ethics. Provides instruction consistent with Georgia PSC-approved certifications and endorsements (ESOL, Gifted) and participates in professional learning and school events. Maintains regular attendance and engages in professional responsibilities to support student achievement and global citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special Education: certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum) and alignment with teaching assignment
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience o Industry licensure required
