Job Summary
Deliver grade-relevant, subject-matter-specific instruction to diverse learners, including those with special needs, while implementing lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual channels. Communicate with students, parents, and district personnel via phone, email, or video conferencing to foster a safe, engaging learning environment conducive to academic success and life skills. Assess student achievement, document progress, and prepare reports on grades, performance, and attendance in compliance with state and district standards. Supervise student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and collaborate with paraprofessionals, counselors, and administrators as required. Develop and revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, provide specially designed instruction aligned to individual needs, and implement Behavior Intervention Plans. Maintain prompt attendance and participate in professional learning sessions and student development conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service (e.g., special education, adaptive curriculum, and/or special education general curriculum)
- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved subject-specific endorsements
- Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience
- Industry licensure
