Job Summary
Plan and deliver educational instruction to diverse learners, including those with special needs, in line with state and district standards, and create a safe, engaging learning environment that promotes academic success, physical fitness, and life skills for global citizenship. Teaches grade-relevant, subject-specific curriculum (8th grade science) with in-person and virtual learning; develops and implements lesson plans; communicates with district personnel, students, and parents; creates conducive learning environments; uses internet and web-based technology for instruction; assesses and reports progress; participates in conferences with families and administrators; performs general instructional duties; directs paraprofessional staff as needed; maintains attendance. Special Education responsibilities include identifying educational needs, providing instruction per IEPs, serving as case manager for students with disabilities, and coordinating IEP meetings; follows the Georgia professional code of educator ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
- Special Education: certification in service (e.g., Special Education, Adaptive curriculum, and/or Special Education General Curriculum), content certification areas and alignment with GEorgia PSC approved teaching certificate
- ESOL & Gifted: Valid Georgia PSC approved endorsements
- Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE): Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations
- Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience o Industry licensure required
