Job Summary
Deliver personalized, one-on-one tutoring in secondary and university-level Math, Science, or English courses. Assess student strengths and learning needs to create customized lesson plans, reinforce classroom instruction, and provide supplemental practice materials. Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding performance and next steps. Maintain a professional, positive, and encouraging learning environment while supporting exam preparation and long-term academic goals. Schedule includes weekday afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends with flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and related subjects)
- Advanced expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Sciences (including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and related fields)
- Advanced expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: English (including literature, academic writing, composition, grammar, and essay development)
- Availability during weekday afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends
- Strong instructional, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching or tutoring secondary and/or university-level students
- Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to outstanding customer service
Desired Qualifications
- Hold a current teaching certification in good standing with the Idaho Department of Education
- Are qualified to teach at the secondary level
- Are currently completing a Bachelor of Education or teacher preparation program
- Have experience as a lecturer, instructor, or teaching assistant at an accredited college or university
- Hold a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Science, English, or a closely related field, with at least one year of tutoring or teaching experience
- Possess demonstrated expertise in advanced secondary and/or university-level coursework within your subject area
