Second Shift Saw Operator

Job Summary
Read blueprints, make adjustments, set stops or guides, and inspect parts for defects while operating a metal saw, poly saw, or shear. Start, stop, and set up machines safely, using measurement tools to ensure accuracy before cutting. Verify material types, change blades, clean sensors, replenish coolant, and calibrate equipment. Operate forklifts and cranes, pack and transport finished pieces, and complete quality checks and paperwork. Maintain 6S standards in all work stations. This role requires working 8-10 hour shifts with overtime as needed in an environment with noise, dust, and repetitive lifting. Forklift certification and 1-3 years of saw experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift certification
- Experience operating a saw (1-3 years)
- Knowledge of blueprint reading
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Basic math skills (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication, converting fractions to decimals, converting standard measurements to metric system, etc.)
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical inclination
- Ability to read a tape measure and other measurement tools
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to work well with others on a team
- Ability to follow instructions and processes
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Flexibility
- Willingness to be trained by supervisor

- Willingness to have performance measured daily
- Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work
- Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time
- Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area
- Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day
- Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day
- Ability to work in uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment
- Willingness to work with fiberglass
