Second Shift Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary
Oversee a maintenance shop for a fleet and lead a team of technicians in preventive maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment, including diesel trucks and containers. Provide direction to lead technicians and technicians to ensure repairs are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Plan and schedule repair work to minimize downtime, monitor performance, conduct daily shop huddles, coaching and training, and participate in hiring/termination decisions with HR. Perform inspections and quality control to ensure work adheres to procedures and regulations. Manage shop inventory, approve expenses within the scope of authority, and maintain knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and welding tools. Use Dossier Maintenance Software to document work, track issues, and report on performance; may road test vehicles for diagnostics. Maintain and review budgets and department goals aligned with leadership objectives. Emphasize safety and compliance as core responsibilities and contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive maintenance operation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE T4 Brake
- ASE T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role or management role with knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal/state regulations
