Job Summary
Supervise a technician team performing preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, containers, and heavy-duty equipment at a post-collection facility. Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality control inspections to ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and company safety standards. Plan and schedule repair work to reduce lost productivity while overseeing inventory control, expense approvals, and the maintenance of records in Dossier Maintenance Software. Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to A, B, and C-level technicians, including lead technician hiring and termination decisions in concert with HR. Oversee advanced diagnostics for engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems, performing road tests where necessary to determine required repairs. Manage administrative tasks including payroll, departmental goal setting, and budget preparation for approval.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T3 Drive
- ASE Certification T4 Brake
- ASE Certification T5 Suspension and Steering
- ASE Certification T6 Electrical/Electronic
- ASE Certification T7 HVAC Systems
- ASE T2 Diesel Engine
- ASE T Master Certified
- 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations
