Second Shift Fabrication Shop Foreman

Job Summary
Oversee shop personnel and work teams in manufacturing and remanufacturing equipment according to company quality and safety standards to meet production objectives. Evaluate work processes for efficiency, implement improvements to optimize productivity, and provide on-the-job skills and quality standards training to new and seasoned employees. Meet with teams to communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production goals, while maintaining inventory levels and managing material movement for shipping. Plan and execute weekly work schedules to optimize resources with minimal instruction, and perform assigned employee duties as necessary. Maintain equipment documentation throughout the assembly process and complete DOT inspection and auxiliary reports after unit inspections. Ensure proper safety training and resources are provided to support adherence to health and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally
- Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels)
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, lift, carry, and reach or handle with arms, hands, and fingers
- Ability to crawl and work in narrow spaces
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment and motor vehicles as required
- Normal vision with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to work in cold, heat, noise, mechanical/electrical fume or odor
- Ability to work more than 8 hours on one shift
- Ability to work at a minimum height of four feet off the ground
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 (three) years of experience as a supervisor, lead or foreman is preferred
- Experience with engine troubleshooting
- Experience with Overhaul work on Series 50, Inline 53, V53, Series 55 & 60, Inline 71, V71, series 92, series 149 and series 4000
- Experience with Electronics-DDEC I, DDEC-II, DDEC-III, DDEC-IV, ATEC, WTEC, WTEC III, Allison 1000 & 2000
- Experience with Engine, transmission and chassis dyno operation
- Experience with Equipment/transmission/engine modifications and wiring
- Ability to manage complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally meeting commitments for service and assistance
