Job Summary
Instruct assigned second-grade classes daily, maintaining a conducive learning environment and establishing appropriate classroom discipline. Prepare materials and demonstrate subject matter to help students develop as mature, responsible individuals. Evaluate student progress regularly, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with staff on instructional goals and extracurricular activities. Work cooperatively with parents and the community while participating in faculty meetings and school planning. Report for duty fifteen minutes before school opens and remain after it closes, taking precautions to safeguard students and facilities. This nine-month contract role requires lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional exposure to various chemicals and weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education.
- Must hold an appropriate Alabama Professional Educator Certificate.
- Must meet the suitability criteria for employment as required by the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
- Background Check Required: (HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move a minimum of 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 25 pounds.
