Job Summary
Second Cook (2nd Cook) at Coast Hotels contributes to hotel culinary operations by assisting in food preparation, presenting food as per menu/build sheets, and upholding food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Responsibilities include working across shifts and stations, ensuring standards of food prep, quantity, presentation, correct requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation of mise en place, and supporting the culinary leadership team. Requires high school completion and certifications in Food Safe Level I and WHMIS, with the Inter-Provincial Trade Qualifications pursued. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking kitchen, English communication, physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food preparation, cooking, and presentation, and a professional attitude aligned with Coast's values.
