Job Summary
Independently install commercial HVAC equipment and ductwork, fabricate fittings, and layout roof curbs without supervision. Read blueprints to create material lists and coordinate with general contractors on multi-trade installations. Complete daily paperwork accurately and perform all tasks adhering to safety standards and state mechanical codes. Requires valid driver's license, OSHA 10 certification, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Flexible hours and on-call shifts available.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6+ years of experience in install mechanic
- Valid Driver's License w/acceptable driving record
- OSHA 10 required
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret State Mechanical Codes
- Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks
- Ability to use their hands
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit
- Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus
