Job Summary
Seasonal Maintenance Technician for student housing handles day-to-day maintenance operations, including service requests, unit turns, inspections, and grounds upkeep. The role supports the community by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and readiness for move-ins, communicates maintenance issues to the supervisor, participates in on-call rotations, and assists with preventative maintenance tasks per the monthly calendar. Requires hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic construction, the ability to follow instructions, strong teamwork and time management, and a professional demeanor to serve residents, guests, employees, and contractors. The position emphasizes proactive, team-oriented work to keep the property running smoothly and safely, with duties including shop organization, safety procedures, and documentation of completed work orders and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 months of related maintenance experience or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- HVAC certification as required by local regulations
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift or carry heavy loads
- Availability for weekends, overtime, and on-call rotations as required
- Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
