Job Summary
Seasonal Tax Expert – Retail On-Site at TurboTax locations nationwide. Be the local, trusted tax advisor and community ambassador, delivering full-service tax return preparation, tax advice, calculations, and software/product support both in-person and virtually. Lead local events, nurture new customer relationships, and grow TurboTax’s client base with marketing support and community engagement. Leverage tax expertise, government resources, and CRM tools to deliver accurate tax solutions and an exceptional customer experience. Must reside in the United States, hold an active PTIN, and possess or obtain state licenses as required. Strong tax preparation experience (3+ years, 50+ returns per season), familiarity with Circular 230, and excellent communication skills are essential. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is a plus. This is a nonexempt, on-site, seasonal role with flexible 25–34 hour weekly schedules per location, and compensation varies by state (pay range provided by location).
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted credential: EA, CPA, or Practicing Attorney with tax preparation experience
- Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Minimum of 3 years of paid experience filing 50+ federal and state individual 1040 tax returns per tax season
- Familiarity with Circular 230
- Ability to work 25–34 hours weekly including afternoons, evenings, weekends
- Collaborative, adaptable, and customer-focused
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing
