Job Summary
Assist visitors with product selection, operate the cash register, and provide park information while maintaining a safe, appealing store environment. Restock the sales floor following visual merchandising guidelines, lift boxes up to 35 pounds to a height of 5 feet, and participate in inventory management and spot checks. Open and close the store independently during the April to November 15 season, working weekends and holidays. Serve as an ambassador for the National Parks by promoting the Outer Banks Forever mission and educating visitors about the partnership with the National Park Service.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- The season runs from April - November 15
- Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, squat, and reach
- Must be able to maintain a safe and appealing store environment
- Must be able to provide Park information to visitors
- Must be able to operate cash register by processing appropriate tender
- Must be able to maintain accurate cash register records
- Must be able to assist visitors with product selection
- Must be able to offer complementary products
- Must be able to exhibit exceptional customer service and selling techniques
- Must be able to restock the sales floor
- Must be able to follow visual merchandising guidelines
- Must be able to create visual displays
- Must be able to participate in the inventory management process
- Must be able to spot check counts
- Must be able to open and close the store independently
- Must be able to promote Outer Banks Forever's Mission
- Must be able to educate visitors about the Outer Banks Forever partnership with the National Park Service
- Must be able to provide quality educational experiences to national park visitors
- Must be able to support our retail store at Bodie Island Light Station in Nags Head, NC
