Job Summary
Conduct daily sales and customer service duties by ensuring the sales floor is runway ready through re-merchandising and straightening, assisting customers with cashiering across in-store, online, and mobile platforms, and managing the fitting room experience. Manage stock and fulfillment by receiving freight, unpacking merchandise, fulfilling customer orders, and utilizing inventory management systems to process shipments. Maintain a clean, clutter-free environment by sorting returned clothing, organizing stockrooms, and supporting store operations such as setting up special events and relocating fixtures. Work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced retail setting at Nordstrom Rack Tysons Corner, handling tasks from operating point-of-sale systems to lifting items up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items
- Reaching for and lifting items above the head
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in-store, online and mobile)
- Operating a point-of-sale system
- Bagging items of all size
- Handling bulky sometimes heavy items including boxes

- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer's orders following quality, packing and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments
