Job Summary
The Club Swim Instructor teaches private and group swim lessons in a safe, professional and fun manner, assists with coaching Streamliners swim practices, handles swim lesson paperwork, and ensures pool safety per Red Cross standards. The role collaborates with lifeguards to organize pool space, maintains pool area cleanliness, communicates with the Aquatics Director, attends trainings, applies first aid when needed, and completes timekeeping/scheduling tasks daily. Requires Red Cross Lifeguard certification, 1 year of lifeguard/instruction/coaching experience, strong swimming ability (300 yards) and the ability to lift/pull heavy pool equipment; four-day-a-week availability including weekends; location at Claremont Resort & Club in Berkeley, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- 1 year experience as lifeguard, swim instructor and/or other sport coach
- Above average swimming skills - ability to swim 300 yards and ability to pull weight in water
- Availability - must be 4 days a week, including weekends
- Ability to lift and roll pool covers (200 lbs.)
