Job Summary
Monitor assigned hotel floors from 9:45 PM to 5:00 AM, ensuring student safety and responding to emergency situations or suspicious activity. Treat customers, vendors, and fellow employees with honesty, respect, and professionalism while maintaining a positive relationship with students. Follow proper procedures including checking in and out of the hotel with designated personnel and escalating incidents per protocol. Work closely with the Night Chaperone Coordinator and Onsite Coordinator to ensure the highest quality experience for participants. Availability required in October, November, and February through June; must commute to on-site locations in the College Park, MD area.
Required Qualifications
- Availability in October and November, and in the spring from February-June, during peak season.
- Must be willing to commute to on-site locations in the College Park, MD Area.
- Team player who works well with students, teachers, vendors and WorldStrides staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills with knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word and Excel), email, and working from a smartphone.
- Must have the use of sensory skills as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear – to be able to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and clients.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including walking up and down numerous flights of stairs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Successful completion of applicable background screening.
