Job Summary
Seasonal seed-quality lab role focusing on germination, vigor, purity and trait verification with duties including subsampling, media preparation, germination and herbicide bioassay testing, data entry into the lab data management system, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace; requires attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team, proficiency with computers/MS Office, and a valid driver’s license; employment contingent on drug test and background check.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- experience helpful but not required
- valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and work as a team member
- High-level attention to detail
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets
- Be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Able to work in an environment with soil, sand, seeds, various plant material and herbicides
- Experience in a seed testing lab is preferred, but not required
