Job Summary

Operate, monitor, and maintain campus irrigation systems, performing seasonal start-ups and winterizations while repairing sprinkler heads, valves, and lines. Conduct routine inspections to ensure proper function, adjust heads to prevent overspray, and maintain inventory of parts. Safely operate equipment including tractors, mowers, and power tools, while developing daily work plans in coordination with the Grounds Team Lead. Assist with general grounds support as needed. This seasonal role requires availability through November and involves outdoor work in various weather conditions with frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNTIL NOVEMBER
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Exposure to equipment, noise, dust, and chemicals (pesticides/herbicides)
  • Use of hand and power tools and operation of machinery
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work efficiently

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of irrigation or grounds maintenance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, tools, and repair techniques
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and grounds equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
