Job Summary
Walk assigned residential territories for 6–8 hours daily to engage homeowners in face-to-face conversations about pest control solutions. Visually inspect homes for pests, assess customer needs through consultation, and sell preventative maintenance services using expert product knowledge. Collaborate with Customer Service, Inside Sales, and Technicians to identify revenue streams, while developing proposals to resolve existing issues and enhance household services. Complete home diagrams in the Sales CRM to track challenges and follow up on past proposals to close sales opportunities. Perform daily sales activities and ensure clear understanding of customer homes by documenting findings in the provided CRM system.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license from your current state of residence
- Strong social, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 11–20 lbs. frequently
- Ability to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to go up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to keep balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces
- Comfort dealing with different pests (spiders, flies, mosquitos, rodents, etc.)
- Ability to go into small spaces such as basements, crawl spaces, attics, etc.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator
- Ability to regularly work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
- Near-range visual acuity for detailed tasks
- Ability to perform activities with precision such as analyzing data, viewing computer screens or reading extensively
- Ability to express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction
- Ability to make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers, phones
- Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and fingers, such as typing, picking, and pinching
- Ability to work inside with or without air conditioning and heating
- Agreement to receive initial texts from systems used on behalf of Rentokil North America, Inc.
Desired Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training in sales
- At least 1-2 years of pest technician or sales experience
