Seasonal Field Maintenance Worker

Under the supervision of the Fire Captain or Engineering Boss, perform urban interface thinning and mitigation efforts within Sandy City by working with part-time members to thin fuels and create fuel breaks. Use weed eaters and hand tools while maintaining the care and condition of department apparatus and equipment. Report mechanical or other issues requiring service to equipment and communicate verbally and in writing with the public and City personnel. Analyze and solve problems while exercising discretion in emergency situations. This seasonal, non-benefitted position pays $17.00/hour for up to six months. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid Utah Driver's License or learner's permit.
