Job Summary
Teach prepared nature-based lessons to elementary students in outdoor and indoor settings across partner schools, ODC, and local parks. Provide adequate supervision for children at all times, maintain safe and nurturing environments, and collaborate with site leads to ensure high-quality care and safety. Support before/after school programs and enrichment classes while helping maintain physical facilities. Work collaboratively with the ODC Network Team in a nonprofit focused on educating children about natural resources throughout West Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass complete background check, including fingerprinting
- Willingness to spend a significant amount of time outdoors each day, in most types of weather
- Able to set aside constant demands of personal technology i.e. cell phone or personal device in order to build relationships with students
- Demonstrated good character, responsibility and suitability to meet the needs of children
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Demonstrated interest in elementary children
- Interest in nature and being outdoors

- Experience or college coursework in areas of early childhood or K-12 Education preferred but not required
