Job Summary

Conduct initial clinical evaluations and urgent care procedures, including performing physical exams, administering injections, drawing blood, and running labs. Prepare patients for advanced care by taking histories, establishing vital signs, and documenting findings in the electronic medical record. Triage patients, order supplies within budget, and interpret diagnostic results such as EKGs and blood gases in collaboration with supervising physicians. Maintain clean office standards and manage patient registration and callbacks. Work all shifts including day, evening, and weekends with a minimum of 68 hours monthly during the October through March seasonal period.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited program
  • EMT or Paramedic - Certificate
  • MA - Certificate
  • LPN License - State of Iowa
  • BLS
  • Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter Training
  • Minimum of 68 hours a month
  • Seasonal: October 1st - March 1st
  • 12 Hour Shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
  • Ability to work all shifts including, day, evening, and weekend hours as needed
  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff
  • Must maintain regular and sustained attendance

Desired Qualifications

  • EMT or Paramedic - Certificate preferred
  • MA - Certificate preferred
  • 1 year experience preferred
