Job Summary
Seasonal Chef Instructor, Savory at Sur La Table serves as the in-store expert for savory cooking, delivering hands-on culinary instruction and extending brand-appropriate customer experiences. Responsibilities include creating memorable in-store culinary experiences, teaching savory techniques and fundamentals, communicating technical concepts clearly, staying current on products, driving class enrollments and retail sales, meeting or exceeding class revenue goals, and supporting store operations through mise en place setup, sanitation, inventory maintenance, and compliance with food safety standards. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality customer education, inspiring a love for cooking, and contributing to store performance while adhering to SOPs and applicable wage, hour, and alcohol regulations. Qualifications include 21+ age, a degree in culinary arts preferred (consideration for extensive culinary experience in lieu of formal education), 1-2 years kitchen operations experience, and Valid Food Manager Certification. Availability is 12-16 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
