Job Summary
Seasonal Behavioral Technician provides non-physical emotional and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in home, community, and center settings. Responsibilities include implementing each child’s Individual Support Plans, conducting functional assessments (ADLs), using redirection strategies to manage behavioral concerns, submitting visit notes promptly, responding to crises with de-escalation and safety strategies, engaging clients in interest-based activities, attending case reviews and required trainings, and following all agency protocols and professional guidelines. Key skills include active listening, emotional intelligence, positive leadership, patience and empathy, strong verbal and written communication, organization, independent and collaborative work, and familiarity with evidence-based approaches for developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.
