Job Summary
Seasonal Behavioral Technician provides non-physical, emotional and behavioral support to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center. Roles include ensuring safety and well-being, implementing Individual Support Plans, conducting functional assessments including ADLs, using redirection strategies for behavioral concerns, submitting visit notes, responding to crises with de-escalation and safety strategies, engaging clients in activities to promote growth, attending case reviews and trainings, and following agency protocols. Requires NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months, pursuit of RBT certification within 6 months, valid NJ driver’s license, background checks, drug screening, and a minimum commitment of three months. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates encouraged. Schedule typically 5–20 hours/week with 2–4 hour evening shifts; location is Essex County, NJ (East Orange). The role includes a $300 sign-on bonus and benefit offerings; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and complete onboarding and ongoing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Must be willing and able to commit to the position for a minimum of three (3) months
- Pathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey Guidelines (RBT/BACB supervised experience or HS Diploma with 3 years of supervised experience)
