Job Summary
Seasonal Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course. Responsible for skilled manual, technical maintenance and supervisory work related to construction, care and maintenance of municipal golf course grounds, equipment, and related structures. Assist in supervising construction, care, and maintenance of the eighteen-hole golf course including turf, bunkers, roughs, irrigation systems, landscaping, buildings, and related facilities. Plan, organize, and coordinate daily grounds operations; inspect course daily for turf health and playing conditions; schedule and oversee routine maintenance (mowing greens/tees/fairways, cup/pin placement, bunker care, landscaping). Train, supervise, and evaluate seasonal staff; coordinate work for tournaments and special projects. Monitor and operate irrigation systems; ensure proper identification and treatment of turf diseases, weeds, and pests; oversee fertilizer, fungicide, and pesticide applications in compliance with regulations. Maintain records of maintenance activities, weather conditions, and chemical applications. Coordinate with equipment maintenance staff on use, repair, and purchasing needs. Enforce safety procedures per OSHA and state/federal regulations. Serve as Assistant Golf Course Superintendent during absences. Open until filled; hourly pay $22-$26 depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in turf management, Turfgrass Certificate or a closely related field required
- Two years of responsible experience in golf course maintenance or a closely related field
- One to two years of supervisory experience
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Valid State License, Class D, and a clean driving record
- Valid State pesticide application license
- Ornamental and shade trees license preferred
