Job Summary
Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures while verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable and other accounting data. Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for, investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly statements, and prepare checks. Generate reports detailing accounts payables status and handle client calls regarding payables. Review payroll for errors and perform Excel spreadsheet entry of weekly activity. This seasonal position runs through February 6, 2027, with around 40+ hours per week. Platform Accounting Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm offering tax, accounting, assurance, IT consulting, and wealth management to small and medium-sized businesses across 15 states.
Required Qualifications
- Proven working experience in Accounting, especially Accounts Payable
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Strong understanding of expense accounts, cost centers, and compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- 10-Key proficiency
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in MS Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be available for around 40+ hours per week
- Starting ASAP through February 6, 2027
