Job Summary
Manage all alterations, fittings, and sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards while maintaining quality control guidelines. Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments, then inspect all garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery. Resolve customer service issues swiftly, address concerns with confidence, and assist stylists in closing sales by consulting on gown fit and customization. Maintain inventory management for special orders, ensure alteration pricing meets standards, and keep the alterations room consistently clean and organized. Perform duties as assigned by store management while exemplifying friendly, knowledgeable expertise and superior customer service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment
- Prior sewing experience required
- Prior experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment
- Ability to lift/and or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to see up close and at a distance
- Ability to use peripheral vision and depth perception
- Ability to look at, read, and use a computer, electronic devices and phones for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as use of POS (Point of Sale) terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers and receiving or initiating telephone calls
- Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David's Bridal standards, as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach for tools and objects with hands and arms
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to bend, twist and stand
- Ability to move throughout the store
- Ability to talk to and hear customers
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus
