Job Summary
Perform quality alterations on merchandise at the store location, including hemming jeans and pants, by following ticket instructions and accommodating on-the-spot guest requests. Measure and mark alteration lines, remove stitches, resew garments using a needle and thread or sewing machine, press items, and repair defective merchandise or remove stains. Record all work in the alteration log, maintain a clean and stocked work area, and uphold productivity guidelines of four jean alterations per hour. Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related sewing, fitting, and alteration experience
- training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 25lbs throughout the store and backroom
