Job Summary
Perform quality alterations on merchandise by following ticket instructions, measuring lines, pinning folds, and using a Buckle sewing machine to hem jeans and pants. Remove stitches with a ripper or razor blade, resew garments with needle and thread or machine, press items with a hand iron or steamer, and repair defective merchandise or remove stains. Record all work in the alteration log, maintain a clean and stocked work area, and uphold productivity guidelines of four jean alterations per hour. Accommodate guests with on-the-spot alterations and communicate policy violations or merchandise concerns to store leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related sewing, fitting, and alteration experience
- training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 25lbs throughout the store and backroom
