Job Summary
Perform quality alterations on merchandise by following ticket instructions, measuring and marking lines, pinning folds, and resewing garments using provided sewing machines. Accommodate on-the-spot guest requests for hemming jeans and pants while meeting productivity guidelines of four alterations per hour. Remove stitches, press merchandise with a hand iron or steamer, and repair defective items or remove stains. Maintain a clean, organized work area and record all work in the alteration log. Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related sewing, fitting, and alteration experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- must be 18 years of age or older
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 25lbs throughout the store and backroom
