Job Summary
Perform quality alterations on merchandise by following ticket instructions, measuring and marking lines, pinning folds, and resewing garments using provided sewing machines or needle and thread. Press finished items with a hand iron or steamer, remove stitches with a ripper or razor blade, and repair defective merchandise or remove stains. Record all work in the alteration log, maintain a clean and stocked work area, and uphold productivity guidelines of four jean alterations per hour. Accommodate guests with on-the-spot alterations while meeting deadlines and expectations. Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related sewing, fitting, and alteration experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- must be 18 years of age or older
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 25lbs throughout the store and backroom
