Job Summary
Seamer position focused on maintaining and altering staff uniforms. Responsibilities include operating sewing machines, steamers, and irons; adhering to policies and daily directives; performing fittings, alterations, and occasional garment sizing; and basic sewing-machine maintenance. Requires three years of industrial sewing experience (including blind stitch and overlock machines), ability to handle varying work conditions, reach and lift at heights, strong manual dexterity, intermediate math for measurements, and professional English communication. Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years experience in industrial sewing including use of blind stitch machines and overlock machines
- Experience in fittings, major alterations, resizing of garments and basic sewing machine maintenance
- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, lighting and air quality
- Ability to work at a height of three to twelve inches above floor level as necessary for alterations
- Manual dexterity for sewing, mending and handling fabric
- Intermediary math skills for taking measurements for making and sizing uniforms
- Able to communicate professionally in English, both oral and written
