Deck Hand on Svitzer vessels reports to the Master and supports vessel operation and ownership across deck, engine room, and accommodation tasks. Responsibilities include performing all work safely, seeking Master guidance when in doubt, proposing initiatives to raise onboard safety, actively participating in drills and safety training, supporting salvage and workshop activities ashore or onshore equipment preparation, performing maintenance and housekeeping on deck/engine room/accommodation, standing watches as required, and stopping work if unsafe while following Stop Work and Take 5 procedures. The role emphasizes compliance with safety management systems, inductions of visitors and personnel, and contributing to a diverse, high-performing team.
