Job Summary
Provide friendly service to customers by answering inquiries, offering serving suggestions, and guiding them to products. Receive, unload, and check invoices for incoming seafood; perform daily and monthly inventory; order back-stock; and document transfers. Cut, wrap, price, and display fresh and frozen seafood, including preparing fillets, steaks, sushi, and shellfish. Maintain product freshness by repacking, rewrapping, and re-pricing items; pull dated stock; and check price discrepancies. Assist with housekeeping by cleaning showcases, equipment, and the cutting room, and emptying rubbish. Stay informed on store specials and promotions to assist customers and drive sales.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write at a high school competency level
- Must be at least 18 years of age upon employment
- Must be able to distinguish color of products
- Must be able to visually recognize, hear, acknowledge and converse with a supervisor, co-worker, or customer at a reasonable distance with a corrective and/or supplemental aid if needed
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Customer service and/or fish cutting experience preferred
- Proven ability to converse in English on a one-to-one basis
- Ability to read and comprehend department guidelines and procedures
- Ability to write in a clear and understandable manner
