Job Summary
Receive, cut, and serve seafood products efficiently while following proper techniques for display cases. Monitor expiration dates, rotate inventory, and remove damaged items per safety guidelines. Accurately count merchandise, update shelf tags, and price items at the counter. Assist customers with weighing, wrapping, and pricing while answering questions courteously. Unload shipments, stock shelves matching UPC codes, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Obtain a food handling permit within 14 days and complete ongoing training. Resolve customer complaints professionally and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.
- Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
- Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
- Demonstrates the basic math and reading skills required for the position.
- Know, comply with, and encourage other team members to comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
- Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers.
- Reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 72 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Pushing and pulling grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 20 lbs.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
