Sea Tow Captain – Ocean Operations (Maine Coast)

Job Summary
Ocean Operations Captain responsible for emergency response, towing, vessel recovery, and light salvage along the Maine coast. Duties include responding to calls for assistance, providing towing services for disabled vessels, conducting vessel recovery and salvage operations, assisting grounded vessels, operating company response vessels in varying sea and weather conditions, coordinating with marinas, harbormasters, law enforcement, and emergency responders, completing service reports and incident documentation, conducting vessel inspections and maintaining equipment readiness, and delivering exceptional customer service during stressful situations. Requires a Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License, strong vessel-handling skills, knowledge of navigation and marine safety, decisiveness under pressure, and excellent communication. CPR/First Aid certification preferred; valid driver’s license and ability to work weekends/holidays/on-call during boating season. Required Qualifications
- Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License (required)
- Strong vessel-handling experience in coastal and offshore environments
- Knowledge of navigation, tides, currents, weather, and marine safety practices
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules during boating season
