Job Summary
Spray routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surfaces using a chopper gun to lay down resin and fiberglass for hull, deck, and small part construction. Maintain constant laminate thickness per engineering specs while controlling labor and parts flow in the designated area. Operate power tools including saws, drills, and overhead hoists to install wood and other components into molds, utilizing detailed blueprints and work instructions. Sand fiberglass hulls and decks as needed, assist with rolling glass, and audit departmental work areas. Maintain and adjust resin guns and pumps while ensuring proper millage on parts. Work in an environment requiring standing, walking, and climbing with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of fiberglass lamination instruction experience
- Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English
- Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
- Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
- Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test, and physically wear a respirator where required
- Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.
- Must be able to understand all safety related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
- Must have the availability to work from 3pm-1:30 Monday - Thursday
- Overtime is frequently required on Friday based on scheduling needs
