Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Operating Room at Mercy Hospital Southeast, utilizing the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness and coordinate with preop, anesthesia, surgeons, and recovery staff. Train on equipment, manage patient positioning and prepping, and document records while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Opportunities exist to cross-train or advance to scrub or First Assist roles. Requires at least one year of OR experience, a current RN license, and BLS certification. Full-time 36-hour schedule includes 12-hour days on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of OR nursing experience
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability for 12-hr Days shifts
- Availability for Scheduled Weekends
